Biography
Steinway Artist Avis Romm’s love affair with the piano began as early as age three. This passion led to her studies at The Juilliard School in New York where she received Bachelor of Music and Master of Science degrees. As a busy performing and recording pianist, Ms. Romm has performed for radio and television throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, Russia, China and Japan.
Ms. Romm currently performs with the Romm Family Trio and at the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute. She has done extensive research in the field of early childhood education, working both with the Carabo-Cone Method (A Sensory-Motor Approach to Music Learning) and youth music at Yamaha Canada.
Avis has taught and lectured at the college level throughout North America. A major focal point of her lectures is musical collaboration and chamber performance. She describes her approach as “finding the joy in music as both a soloist and a collaborator.”
